BTCC 2024 Race 2 Donington Park

Under very different weather conditions race 2 started with Jake hill flying out the blocks at the start to squeeze out Tom Ingram to take the lead from the start, The top three started a slight break away at the beginning of the race with Ash Sutton topping out the podium positions at the start

The battle for second was heating up with Ingram and Sutton with some good close touring car action throughout the first part of the race however Jake hill remains quite comfortable out front.

Further down the pack the battle for 7th was heating up between Moffat, Taylor-Smith and Morgan had some real good close racing changing positions througout the mid part of the race.

In the later stages of the race the top 3 were split by .6 of a second, On top of each other as the positions closed up and built up to a dramatic finish with 4 laps to go Ingram took the lead with a spectacular move at the top of the craner curves followed through on Jake Hill was Ash Sutton at the old hairpin and as they broke away the battle for 4th was getting closer with Colin Turkington all over the back of Josh Cook with Dan Cammish sitting right in the BMWs mirrors.

In the closing stages all of the top three had used all of the Hybrid power with Tom Ingram opeining up the largest gap of the race of 0.8s to win the race overall followed by Sutton and Hill to top out the podium positions,

The battle between Cammish and Turkington spread more when the NAPA racing fords bonnet started to life on the final lap finishing up with Cook, Turkington and Cammish 4th, 5th and 6th.

On the cool down lap Ash Suttons Focus developed a smoke issue which did look slightly concerning causing the circuit marshals to have a track inspection for dropping oil, Hopefully wont be an issue as the final race approaches.
